The Sokoto State Police Command has deployed about 5000 policemen to provide security as President Goodluck Jonathan and his Vice, Namadi Sambo visit the state for the flag-off of the PDP governorship campaign yesterday which Alhaji Aliyu Wamakko is the ruling PDP’s candidate. This number excludes the hundreds of State Security Service, SSS, and Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps that have also deployed their officers and men to complement efforts of the police. The governorship election holds on February 18. However, yesterday’s campaign held at the Trade Fair Complex.
