WEEPING women, sobbing men, crying kids and angry youths

Photo
It was expectantly gloomy yesterday at Madalla, the Niger State town where a Christmas Day bomber killed 43 people.

Some men covered their faces with their hands – in shame that this happened - and troubled women, held firmly by relatives, created a moving scene – after realizing that the end had, indeed, come for their fellow parishioners at the St. Theresa’s Catholic Church.

In all, 17 bodies were buried in a row of graves in the church’s premises.

Most of the mourners started crying when the mass ended and the coffins, borne aloft by youths in red T-shirts and black trousers, were being carried from the church to the graveside. May there souls rest in peace Amen
