Lagos State Introduces Cable Cars as Okada Replacement

Lagos State is set to introduce a new transport system soon. The commercial motorcycle transport system, which is also known as “Okada,” will be replaced by cable cars from Ropeways Transport Limited.

Ropeways Transport Limited, Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority, and Lagos State Government have already signed a 30-year franchise agreement for the said project.

According to reports, Ropeways Transport Limited will begin the construction of the cable cars in November this year.

Towers, stations, and network cables will be constructed along different routes – Ijora-Iddo, Iddo-Adeniji, Apapa-Oluwole, Oluwole-Adeniji, Adeniji-Obalende, Obalende-Falomo, and Falomo-Victoria Island.
