The Pre-Party
The couple arrived ahead of the ceremony which took place on Friday 8th of March 2013. Prior to their traditional wedding, 2Face and Annie rocked the night away alongside friends at a pre-wedding party.
The Guests
Celebrities including Best Man Sound Sultan, Timaya, Kate Henshaw, Ini Edo, Tana Adelana, AY Makun, Iyanya, Chika Ike and many others.
The Venue
The field of the Apostolic High School in Esit Urua was the venue of 2Face and Annie Idibia’s wedding. Due to the number of fans, well-wishers and invited guests – this was basically the only venue in the area that could hold the huge number of guests.
The Aso-Ebi
Annie selected a gold lace fabric paired with a vibrant velvet fabric for her aso-ebi. Her friends looked lovely as they all escorted the bride and she stepped out to begin the wedding festivities.
The Bride’s Makeup
Nollywood actress Annie selected a natural yet stunning bridal look.
The Bride’s Outfit
Annie looked beautiful in her gold lace blouse paired with an richly embellished orange wrapper and gold head tie. She completed her look with a brown, bronze and gold beaded necklace, earrings and gold shoes. Everyone at the event commented on how gorgeous she looked!
The Groom and his Groomsmen
The superstar groom and his groomsmen stood out in their interpretation of the traditional look. While groomsmen wore velvet wrappers, 2Face wore orange george which matched his bride paired with a white top and coral beads. 2Face’s outfit was by Taryor Gabriels Bespoke (TGB). His customized “2Baba” hat was a major talking point as fans and well-wishers cheered him on as he walked around the venue.
The Governor & the Senator
The Governor of Akwa Ibom (Annie’s home state), Godswill Akpabio attended the event. He teased 2Face that he had come to take a precious jewel from their land. The Governor also promised the newlyweds gifts including a Prado SUV and more.
Former Senator Florence Ita-Giwa who is a mother-figure to the couple was also at the event.
The Emotional Moments
There were tears as Annie said “goodbye” to her parents. It was also a beautiful moment as 2Face and Annie’s daughter witnessed her parents’ traditional union.
The Funny Moments
One of the traditions in Annie’s hometown is the “test of manhood” during wedding ceremonies. 2Face was asked to step out to a place where most guests could see him. Then asked to raise his right hand up towards his private region. He was then asked to grab hold of his goods and confirm if it was there and if it would satisfy Annie! This was done to test his “potency”
The Next Step
All roads are loading to Dubai for 2Face and Annie’s White Wedding. The event will take place on the 23rd of March 2013. We hear that event planning company extraordinnaire Oaken Events is at the helm of the planning and coordination. No word on what dress Annie has selected but we are all waiting to see!
