Police Officer, Yomi Shogunle Tells Ruggedman To Get John A Lawyer, As Rugged Fires Back, ‘Be A Good Officer & Investigate’

 

So yesterday evening, the case of John a Benin musician was trending. Today, Cool Fm, Ruggedman deemed it fit to ask Mr Abayomi Shogunle, the Officer in Charge, Complaint Response Unit (CRU) of the Police about an update about John, and Mr Abayomi politely told them to get John a lawyer and meet in court because it is a criminal matter. That however didn’t get down well with Ruggedman as he said to the officer, ‘You all need to weed out bad eggs in the Police force and nt support it. BE A TRUE POLICEMAN AND INVESTIGATE CASES.’

According to John and his family, John is innocent and was never What is going in in this country! Can this even be true??? Isn't the police supposed to be your friend? If this story is true then I am not only disappointed, I am ashamed and embarrassed. According to reports an upcoming Benue music artist, John Inalegwu Edward also known as Inas has been arrested and allegedly charged for homicide, armed robbery and conspiracy after insisting on collecting his phone from a police officer.
it all started when Inas was allegedly arrested along University of Agriculture road in North Bank area of Makurdi by Division C policemen while returning home after a video shoot on the night of Wednesday, 1st June 2016.
After two days in police custody, on Friday, he was bailed by family and friends for the sum of N20,000 but asked to return the next day, being Saturday, for his phone and other belongings since the officer that had them, who allegedly goes by the nickname “majesty”, was not around.
On returning the next day, ” magistrate” the policeman allegedly told Inas not to disturb him about the phone, allegedly threatening to rearrest him if he did. As the boy continued to plead with the policeman, he was asked to return on Monday for his phone.
When he returned on Monday, he was told to sit and wait for the policeman. After over four hours of waiting, “majesty” the policeman allegedly handcuffed the young boy and sent him along with two others arrested the previous night to the state police headquaters on a fresh charge of homicide (murder), armed robbery and conspiracy.
All efforts to prove his innocence, including clips of the video shoot proved abortive.
Inas and the two others appeared in court today Monday 13th June 2016 and are being remanded in prison till the 8th of August 2016.
