She's racked up the most nominations of any actor or actress in the history of the Oscars, and Meryl Streep was named as Best Actress at the 84th Annual Academy Awards on Sunday night (February 26).
The 52-year-old actress understandably was a bit overwhelmed as her name was announced, taking the stage to collect her hardware for her role in the movie "The Iron Lady".
During her speech, Miss Streep started off by thanking her husband and her longtime makeup artist Roy for 30 years together.
Ms Streep continued to say how much she appreciates her colleagues, saying, "I look out here and I see my life before my eyes. My old friends and my new friends... The thing that counts the most with me is the friendships and the love and the sheer joy we have shared making movies together, my friends."
