Whitney Houston's Funeral Date and Location Announced>>

As the reality of the singer's passing begins to set in, funeral arrangements for music icon Whitney Houston have been finalized.

Scheduled to take place at New Hope Baptist Church in Newark, New Jersey on noon this Saturday (February 18), the memorial service will be "invitation only" and will not include a wake.


A source in a report from Us Weekly told that Whitney's mother, Cissy, "was at the funeral home until 2 a.m." and "made it clear that a funeral must be inside a church," as "the Prudential Center is not an appropriate venue."

Houston's body arrived into New Jersey via private plane on Monday, where it was later taken to Whigham Funeral Home.
