A group of protesters occupied the premises of Nicon Luxury Hotel in
Garki Abuja yesterday to protest nonpayment for goods and services owed by
the owner of the hotel, controversial businessman, Jimoh Ibrahim.
The
protesters arrived early to demonstrate on an auspicious day when the
hotel was hosting a significant international conference. The group
named Association of NICON LUXURY HOTEL SUPPLIERS said the proprietor
owes them unpaid debt dating back to 2004.
It will be the second
of such major strike against Mr. Ibrahim. The first demonstration hit
his Lagos headquarters when former workers of the defunct Air Nigeria
engaged in protest over their illegal dismissal and nonpayment of
salaries.
SaharaReporters learns that some floors of the hotel
remains uninhabitable, and Mr. Ibrahim cut corners in the running of the
hotel.
Gosh! What happened?
