Tension: Police Deploy Troops In Langtang, Wase

Plateau State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Chris Olakpe, has said that a contingent of mobile and regular policemen has been deployed in Langtang North and Wase local government areas, where a feud has been raging between the Taroh community and pastoral Fulani.
At least, no fewer than 20 people have been feared killed since Tuesday, when the body of a Taroh man was discovered in Wase. The Taroh people were said to have carried out a reprisal, ambushing some Fulani herdsmen on their way from market in Wadatan Garga, near Wase.
Nine Fulani were said to have been killed, an action that led to silent killings in the Plateau Southern Senatorial zone.
However, the killings continued on Sunday, following the report of the killing of two Taroh ethnic people at Dogonruwa in Wase
There has mass exodus of Taroh, Fulani and other tribes from the troubled areas as rumours of further attacks spread. Most worshippers were said to have stayed away from churches on Sunday, following rumours that that Muslims were to attack worshipers in churches.
But Olakpe, in an interview in Jos on Sunday, told our correspondent that the police had also moved to secure the troubled areas, especially Langtang-Wase road, where some armed youths were said to have blocked the road, attacking passengers.
