A bomb went off a few meters from the palace of the Emir of Kano on Wednesday night. According to witnesses, the explosion occurred by the Kano Central Mosque located opposite the Emir's palace.
Two suspected bombers allegedly orchestrated the explosion. One of the bombers was apprehended, lynched and killed by a mob, while another was handed over to soldiers, who stormed the scene after the blast.
When JTF spokesman, Captain Iweha was reached for comment, he said that no casualties were recovered.
It is interestingly that this incident is coming only a few hours after President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan named a 26-member committee to work out an amnesty deal for members of the Islamic terrorist group Boko Haram.
