Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State has disclosed why he honoured the
invitation of the Acting Inspector General of Police, Mr Ibrahim Idris
to make peace with the current Minister of Transportation, Rotimi
Amaechi who was the immediate past Governor of Rivers State.
While speaking with PDP supporters at the Rivers West Senatorial District rally in Degema LGA yesterday, Wike said he attended the peace meeting because he is a lover of peace and his administration would implement the resolutions of the meeting. “I was at the peace meeting because we love peace and want the state to move forward. I signed an undertaking on your behalf that we are prepared for INEC credible, free and fair elections. It is not in our position to have crisis because we are the ones losing,” he told his party supporters.
