The much anticipated 2012 edition of Billboard Music Awards was a mix of emotion; with the demise of Whitney Houston and Amy Winehouse who could have been recipients and electrifying performers. This balanced the promise of decades of entertainment from a new generation of record-smashing young artists. The event took place on Sunday May 20, 2012 at the Grand MGM Arena, Las Vegas.
In attendance were record label executives, music producers and artistes. The audience was entertained with performances by Rock dance group, LMFAO, Katy Perry, Usher, Justin Bieber. John Legend and Jodin Sparks. Jodin paid tribute to Whitney Houston while Stevie Wonder and Alicia Keys closed the occasion with an ambitious collaboration.
XLM Recording artiste, Adele, topped the winners list carting home twelve awards. Other winners were; LMFAO, Lil Wayne, Justin Bieber, Chris Brown, Rihanna, Cold Play, Shakira and Lady Gaga to mention a few.
