Yobe massacre "KILLERS AIDED BY LACK OF GSM –GOV"

Here is a twist to the sad tale of the Yobe massacre as reported by the PUNCH.

Please Read:
Governor Ibrahin Geidam on Sunday announced that the killings of 29 pupils of Government Secondary School and one of their teachers was made possible by the lack of telecommunication service in the state.
The governor’s position has the support of operatives of the Joint Task Force in the troubled North-East state as a security source in the area also confided in our correspondent that the shutting down of
GSM in the state made it impossible for security operatives to stop the killers of the young victims.
“Lack of GSM (Global System for Mobile Communications) service has prevented patriotic citizens who have hitherto been collaborating with security agents from reporting suspicious movements in their
neighborhoods,” Gaidam said when he visited the school where the pupils were murdered on Sunday. Investigations by The PUNCH correspondent revealed that the security operatives were indeed sad with the fact that they received the information about the killing after the perpetrators had carried out the slaughtering and had fled the area. A security source who confided in our correspondent explained that the men of the JTF would have responded promptly to prevent the disaster if they had been reached on the phone on time.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!!!! So sad!!!! Again we ask, was it right to cut off the networks in Yobe, Borno and Adamawa? Do you think the networks should be restored??

Your thoughts........

“At about 0530hrs yesterday Saturday 6 Jul 13, unknown gunmen suspected to be Boko Haram Terrorists attacked Government Secondary School Mamudo near Potiskum Town. More than 20 students and a teacher were confirmed dead while 4 students sustained injuries and are in critical condition,” the spokesman for the Joint Task Force in Yobe, Eli Lazarus said.

A witness also said many of the victims were burnt alive by the attackers. Parents struggled to identify the bodies of their children as some where burnt beyond recognition.

The attack occurred less than one month after gunmen, on June 16, killed seven students and two teachers in a government secondary school in Damaturu; and nine students a day later in neighbouring Borno State.
